Beta Sorority, Inc. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority was founded on the simple belief that sorority elitism and socializing should not
overshadow the real mission for progressive organizations - to address societal mores, ills, prejudices, poverty, and health
concerns of the day. Today, we are an organization of over 150,000 college-educated women who are still committed to
implementing public service endeavors focused on contemporary issues facing the global community in which we live.
Due to the multitude of inquiries received for interest
in Zeta Phi Beta, this list of FAQs is provided to address some of them. We hope that your question(s) will be answered, however,

Q #1: How do you become a member of Zeta Phi Beta?
A: All chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated host a meeting, commonly known as the INFORMATIONAL,
where you receive information about the sorority and how to become a member. The INFORMATIONAL activity is hosted at the discretion
of the local chapter. All persons interested in becoming a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. must attend the official
INFORMATIONAL activity.
Q #2: Do students who are pursuing an associate
degree at a technical college or a four-year college/university qualify for membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.?
A: For membership on the undergraduate level in the Sorority,
one must be matriculated at an accredited four-year college or university, pursuing work leading to a baccalaureate degree.
Q #3: I am a student in college. Are there any major requirements
for membership that I should be aware of prior to attending the NFORMATIONAL?
A: Undergraduate:
To
become a member of a collegiate chapter you must currently be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university
where there is an active chapter on campus or in the city. To find out the status of a chapter contact the Greek Affairs or
Student Activities Office of your school. To apply for membership you must already have a cumulative minimum grade point average
requirement of 2.50 on a 4.0 grading scale.
Q #4: I
graduated from college a number of years ago; can I still become a member?
A. To become a member of a graduate chapter, you must have received a baccalaureate degree from an
accredited college/university. You may apply for membership at a chapter within the community where you reside.
Q #5: If I meet all requirements specified at THE INFORMATIONAL do I automatically receive
an invitation for membership intake?
A: No.
Our goal is to select women who not only meet the basic requirements, but also exceed them. Membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,
Inc. is a privilege that is extended to the best and the brightest. To that end, we invite all women to apply who exhibit
excellent personal and professional character with high moral code, who have a commitment to rendering service to their respective
community.
Q #6: Is there an age limit to join?
A: Zeta Phi Beta does not have an age limit for application in either
the collegiate or alumnae chapters.
Q #7: If I am not African American,
can I still join?
A: Yes. We are an equal opportunity
organization. We are interested in women, who understand the founding principles of the organization and are willing
to uphold and support the founding principles and values of Zeta Phi Beta.
Q #8: What if I belong to another Greek-letter organization, am I still eligible for membership?
A: No, if you are a member of another organization holding membership
in the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. or the Panhellenic Conference, Inc.
Q #9: How do I find out more information about the sorority?
A: This website is filled with a lot of helpful information pertaining to our programs, projects, initiatives
and our history. The local chapter in your community can also share more information.
Q #10: What if there is no chapter on my campus?
A: New chapters can be established with the written approval of the college or
university. In addition, the new charters are approved by the Regional Director and the International President of Zeta
Phi Beta Sorority. In deciding whether to establish a new chapter several factors are considered such as the distance
of the nearest sponsoring graduate chapters; the potential for growth; University infrastructure for supporting Greek letter
organizations; etc.
Q #11: How do I find out more information
about a chapter in my area?
A: UNDERGRADUATE: To
find out more about the chapter on your campus, contact your Office of Student Activities.
ALUMNAE: To find out more about a Graduate Chapter please contact the State Director or National Headquarters at (202) 387-3103.
