Janninia Bryan, Regional Tamias

Soror Jannina S. Bryan is from the beautiful island of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.  She joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. at the University of Maryland, Eta Epsilon Chapter in 1993 following in her sister’s footsteps.  After graduating college, she went on to join Eta Pi Zeta Chapter in Montgomery County Maryland where she has held numerous positions including as Tamias, Second Anti Basileus, Third Anti Basileus, Graduate Advisor and Auditor and Tamias of the State of Maryland.  Professionally, Soror Bryan is a Data Products Specialist for the world’s third largest scientific instrument manufacturing company - Shimadzu Scientific Instruments.  In addition to testing software, she is responsible for supporting the sales and service staff with questions or problems associated with our software. 

 

Dr. Cheryl Burton, Regional Grammateus

Dr. Cheryl Burton, a native of Panama, is a licensed clinical social worker, with a private practice in psychotherapy in Hartsdale, N.Y. She is also employed as a bilingual social worker, providing counseling and other services to Middle School and High School students.  She is committed to engaging others and particularly our youth in self-discovery, while teaching them that they can make a difference in the lives of others through community service.  As the founder and advisor, of The African-American Heritage Club, she travels with her student members to Africa, to visit their counterparts in their adopted school in Ghana, as well as to explore the culture of other countries in Africa.

 

Dr. Burton is very active in her community and is an Advisory Board member of the Imani Cultural Academy, an after-school program under the auspices of The Greater Centennial AME Zion Church in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. of which she is a member and the Director of Adult and Family Life.  She also serves on the Board of the YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester, N.Y. and was honored with the Sojourner Truth Racial Justice Award at their annual Salute to Women Luncheon.   Other awards include: Community Service Awards by Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,  and The Friends of the John William Education Center, sponsors of the John William Montessori School in Kumasi, Ghana, her adopted school. She was also honored with the Women’s Achievement Award by the Westchester County Club of the National Association of Negro Business an Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc.

 

 

Dr. Burton earned her B.A. degree in Humanities with a major in psychology from Ottawa University, KS, a Masters of Science degree in Counseling from Long Island University, and Masters  and Doctoral Degrees in Social Work from Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University in N.Y.  Post Graduate Certificates in psychoanalytic psychotherapy were earned at Washington Square Institute for Psychotherapy and Mental Health.

A member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., since 1982, Dr. Burton is the immediate past Basileus of Gamma Xi Zeta Chapter in Westchester County, N.Y., and is currently its 1st Anti-Basileus, as well as the Atlantic Regional Anti-Grammateus.  She served as New York State Social Action Coordinator. She is ZOL certified and is an Atlantic Regional ZOL facilitator.  Dr. Burton was a recent panelist for New York State Z-HOPE HIV Forum in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Tamara D. Harris is a native of Baltimore, MD but raised in Detroit, MI.  In 1997, she received a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics from Coppin State College.  She is currently studying American Sign Language at Community Colleges of Baltimore County at Catonsville.  She has been employed with the Agricultural Marketing Service's Science and Technology Program as a Mathematical Statistician since May 2001 and is responsible for developing and designing statistical analysis programs using SAS programming software.  Prior to working at USDA, she was an Economic Statistician in the Commodity Analysis Branch of the Foreign Trade Division with the U.S. Census Bureau.  Soror Harris has over twelve (12) years of experience working for the US federal government.

 

Soror Harris believes in community outreach and service.  She is a Life Member with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. where she will celebrate 11 years of service on December 8th.  She is a charter member of Tau Eta Zeta (THZ) Chapter of Baltimore, MD where she has had the distinct pleasure of serving as its first president.  Tamara has held numerous offices on the local, state and regional levels.  Currently, she holds the following offices:  National Director of Youth Auxilliaries, National Trainer for Youth Advisors, Regional Financial Secretary, THZ Treasurer, THZ Parliamentarian and Archonette Youth Advisor.

 

Soror Harris also volunteers with the Eunice Clement Sligh Foundation, Inc. where she serves on the Board of Directors as the Vice President.   She sets as her personal objective the promotion of education and youth development.  To maintain and promote this objective, she is a co-coordinator of the SUCCESS Seminar and the Educational Enlightenment College and University Tour. She believes in dedicating her time, energy and finances to the improvement and uplift of the community and is a dedicated and diligent worker who says she truly enjoys helping others.

Soror Stacie N.C. Grant is a member of Phi Zeta Zeta Chapter in Queens, New York and currently the chapter’s Basileus of the newly chartered chapter.  She started working for Zeta on the local level as President of her collegiate chapter and excelled to the top National Collegiate Position as the National Third Anti-Basileus within three years as a member.  During her tenure in office, she developed and executed a National Collegiate Program (the first of its kind) and provided numerous workshops, presentations, and keynote speeches, focusing on the areas of membership, internal structure, image, and career development.  Soror Grant has held the positions of Graduate Member to the National Executive Committee for two terms, the National Director for Leadership Development, member of the National Council of Advisors, Regional and State Undergraduate Advisor Coordinator, and immediate past Regional Z-Hope Coordinator.
