ARLC ReflectionZ: Conference Marshal Bryant Calls This ARLC 'the Best [She's] Attended'

Sorors from all across the Awesome Atlantic Region made their way to Baltimore, Maryland to attend the 58th Atlantic Regional Leadership Conference (ARLC). Soror Josalyn Bryant, from the Alpha Zeta Chapter, served as the Conference Marshal. Here’s how she described the experience:

Throughout the planning and execution of the 2019 Atlantic Regional Leadership Conference, I learned a lot about the intricate details needed at the regional level. Having served as Conference Marshal on the state level previously and with my professional meeting/event planning skills, I was also able to pull on those skill sets in working with the Co-Marshal, to tackle the task of overseeing the many moving parts for ARLC. Serving in this capacity also afforded me the opportunity to learn from the different leadership styles of Zeta officers/members and what the power of being a team player really looks like.

Leading up to ARLC, I met so many Sorors via email through many conversations, conference calls and follow up texts. Yet, it was most rewarding being able to finally put faces to names at the conference. By the time ARLC arrived, I felt like we were at a family reunion! It was all smiles and hugs from beginning to end. It was also great being able to meet so many Sorors from the region and give them a warm welcome to my hometown. My chapter, Alpha Zeta, did win a Z-HOPE award for our chapter size (51+ or more). And I definitely enjoyed shopping with the vendors. Walked away with a few new pieces to add to my Zeta wardrobe.

Overall, this was by far, the best ARLC I’ve attended. Not because of the role I served in, but because of the love, dedication and teamwork portrayed by all involved. I truly thank our Regional Director, Gina Merritt-Epps, Esq. for trusting me with such a task and allowing me to learn from her throughout it all.
